The brief was to create a 10-30 second kinetic design based on one of several creative briefs. In this case, I created a 15 second lyric video clip for the track 'Many Times' by Dijon. ‘Many Times’ tells the story of a rocky period in a couple’s relationship, expressed through its form; haphazard and rough drums accompany frustrated, sparky lyrics. I wanted to create a choppy, chaotic collage-style piece, assembling cinematic vignettes to portray the song’s story.
I created all imagery used in the video through a series of mixed media techniques including digital and analogue collage, photo editing and animation. All assets were assembled in Adobe After Effects, and it was my first attempt at using the software!
I go through my design process in the below Adobe Express page - check it out for documentation of my visual inspiration, process, critique, and design decisions.
